Who Are We?
Omolara Herbal is grounded in the respect for nature, cultural heritage, and the power of education.
The Mission.
To empower individuals and communities with the knowledge and confidence to use herbs safely and effectively.
To promote autonomy and holistic living by helping people take charge of their wellness through education and action.
To operate with respect and compassion always, for people, plants, and the planet.
“Thank you so much for holding such a wonderful space for us at the foraging walk on Sunday. I really appreciated how you shared so much detail about the origins of the herbs and their beneficial properties. It was also so refreshing to see a fellow Black woman facilitating this space and incorporating Black / Afro & Caribbean influence into the session. It was very inspiring as someone who will be studying herbal medicine soon! Thank you again.”

Our Approach: Health As Autonomy
For us, herbal medicine means reclaiming power over your own wellbeing. It's about making informed choices, focusing on the prevention of disease, connecting to ancestral traditions, and sharing knowledge within community.
Honouring Tradition, Engaging Science
Herbal medicine draws on thousands of years of careful observation and refinement across cultures worldwide. At Omolara Herbal, we honour these traditional knowledge systems while engaging with contemporary research, creating a practice that is both time-tested and evidence-based.
Who We Serve
We're inclusive because we could all do with herbs in our lives. We’re particularly committed to supporting communities facing systemic barriers to healthcare. We recognise a complex truth: the medical system has caused profound harm and continues to do so, particularly to Global Majority communities, and it offers valuable, sometimes life-saving tools. It's never either-or.
Why This Matters
In systems designed to keep us dependent and disempowered, self-reliance is resistance. Knowledge is power. You deserve access to herbal knowledge to care for yourself and your community as a foundation for true autonomy.
Our Name
Omolara is a Yoruba name meaning "the child is kin" or "born at the perfect time." We’re Black British of Caribbean descent, reclaiming our severed connection to West Africa. This is us in the diaspora reaching back across that rupture, honouring the knowledge and traditions that survived despite attempts of erasure. As well as the plants, herbalism is also about belonging and memory: remembering that it is very much still alive in us.
As the name says, you arrived at exactly the right time.
